Webquest on Imperialism

For this activity the class will be divided into small groups of 4 students.
In each group there will be 4 different experts:

Student A: Expert on China

Student B: Expert on Africa

Student C: Expert on World Imperialism


First part of the Webquest

Read the introduction to Imperialism

Now each expert should go to the chosen area and find the answers to the questions in each page.


Second part of the Webquest


In each group, students put together the answers they have written down and work together to find an answer one of the the following question:


A) What are the effects of imperialism on our world today?

 

B) On balance, did 19th and early 20th century imperialism aid or harm the societies involved? Why, and how?


C) How did imperialism change the lives of Europeans and their sense of their placein the world?

 

Describe your point of view in a short paragraph.
